About Cake Fight films
Cake Fights Films is a production company founded in 2019 by Paige Feldman, an author and filmmaker who loves exploring the complexity of human relationships through writing and directing saucy, feminist romantic comedies.
The moniker Cake Fight comes from a film Paige made when she was in high school. The climax of the story involved two of the characters getting into a food fight and since her parents were about to remodel their kitchen, they let her (and the cast) throw gobs of chocolate cake at each other all over the kitchen. The walls were stained even after intensive cleaning. Paige tries to bring that sense of spontaneous fun and magic that can be created through generosity into all her work.
The projects produced by Cake Fight strive to be inclusive and diverse both in front of the camera AND behind the scenes. We work to ensure our creations pass the Bechdel test, include people of color in leading roles with their own arcs and not just as supports to white characters, and create LGBTQ characters who get happy endings! Because Paige is Jewish, expanding ideas of Jewish representation is especially important. Not all Jewish people are New Yorkers or Holocaust victims or white, and so she’s creating the type of characters she wishes she had when she was growing up.
